Beschreibung
This book complicates post-colonial critiques of the formation of religious boundaries by analyzing the use of those boundaries in a non-conventional community. It provides examples of the construction of rituals and the contestation of religious borders that make those concepts and their implications more accessible. This book also includes a Glossary of Terms and full translations of all quotations for accessibility to non-specialists. It is multidisciplinary: this book will appeal to religious scholars, theologists, scholars of East Asian studies, and anthropology. By analyzing concrete examples of the creation of a heritage in the context of migration, this multi-sited ethnography considers the implications of representations of religions and diaspora for Sindhi Hindus and other similar communities.
